• Bounced right off 6636 (Amazing Trader algo chart) to keep the key 6580 low intact
• This cools the downside by maintaining the broad range but would need to break 6756 to negate the risk and shift focus back to 6800.
• Keep an eye on crude oil as the back off highs today helped give stocks a lift.

XBRUSD (BRENT OIL) UPDATE

• Fighting off headwinds (IEA led plan to release strategic oil reserves, US waiver of Russian oil sanctions for 30 days) to keep a bid above $100 but so far not by enough to build momentum for a run at the $119+ high.
• Watch $100 as a global risk indicator.
• in any case, keep an eye on headlines out of the Gulf, more so the reaction to the news.
• I would normally say stick to short-term charts and use tight stops, but in current volatility, tight stops are an invite to the stop hunting sharls.

Pattern wise – no escape now from reaching 1.14600

That level is a breaking point :

– If it holds, what we have seen previous weeks was just a correction

– If it gives a way, 1.13100 will be tested and we might be on our way towards 1.0500

What my chart shows

• Put up a good fight but 1.15 finally gave way
• If the 1.1467 break holds, 1.1391 is exposed… below that is a huge void
• Back above 1.1467 would slow risk and put 1.15 back in play
