USDJPY UPDATE
- BoJ “apparent” intervention sent USDJPY nosediving from 159.22 => 157.34.
- Why? As the chart shows, intervention was likely to defend a break of 159.45, which would have put the 160 line in the sand level at risk if broken.
- Damage not fatal: 157.37 support held (low 157.34),
- In any case, a 2-way risk has been restored with 158 remaining the pivotal level.

XAUUSD (GOLD) UPDATE
Looking at an XAUUSD chart there are more questions than answers .
- Has it gone too far, too fast
- ?Is $5000 a bridge too far to cross in this relentless run to the upside?
Trying to guess at a top in this major bull run has been a painful if not fatal exercise so let’s see what the chart shows.
- Key resistance: 4967 (new ATH)
- Minor resistance: 4936 (former intra-day support)
Minor supports: 4899 and 4888 (former ath) - Key support: 4810
- Suggested support zone: 4850-4900
XAUUSD 1 HOUR CHART
Forex Market Snapshot
- Focus is on the USDJPY and the plunge from 159.22 => 157.34 in a matter of minutes strongly suggests BoJ intervention. Finance Minister Katayama declined to comment on whether there was intervention but all signs point towards a defense of what we have been calling the 160 line in the sand level. USDJPY has bounced off its low to trade just above the pivotal 158 level,
- The dollar is mixed elsewhere. GBP is firmer after better-than-expected UK data. EURUSD is lower after failing to hold above 1.1750, weighed down by unwinding of EURJPY and a weaker EURGBP.
- XAUUSD extending its record run… $5000 looming
- US stocks struggling to build further momentum ahead of the US opening.

Gamestop Corporation Stocks – GME
CEO Ryan Cohen increased his stake again
** Cohen on Weds bought 500,000 shares in a series of transactions at an avg weighted price of about $21.60 for total value of about $10.8 mln, according to a regulatory filing
** That’s in addition to a purchase of 500,000 shares Cohen made on Tues and brings his ownership to roughly 8.5% of GME’s ~448 mln shares outstanding
XAUUSD (GOLD) UPDATE
- Having paused above 4747 XAUUSD is making a fresh run at the upside,
- Use 4850 as a pivotal level that needs to become support to put the record 4888 high on the radar although 4800-10 is more important in keeping the bid.
- Note GS revised 2026 forecast for $5400 (vs prior $4900) suggests there will be buyers on any significant retracement.

BTCUSD (BITCOIN) UPDATE
- What can I say about BITCOIN’s yo-yo trading other than to say bulls continue to struggle to sustain control with technicals still pointed down.
- Continues to find support below 88K but struggling to sustain moves above 90K.
- Taking a broad view, key zones are at 84-87K and 80-84K on the downside and 93-95K and 95-98K on the upside.

NAS100 (NASDAQ) UPDATE
- With the opening week gap more than filled, question is whether NAS can build enough momentum for a run at the recent 25785 high.
- Standing in the way is 25728-25767.
- Currently it is struggling a bit after the opening so needs to hold 25288-25341 to keep a bid.
