Gold Is Rising, Bitcoin Is Falling: Why the “Digital Gold” Narrative Is Breaking Down

NZDUSD moved higher today after holding above the EMA-50, confirming it as firm support. The pair remains positioned within a broader short-term bullish structure, with price trading just above the rising EMA-100 and EMA-200, reinforcing the underlying upward bias. On the upside, initial resistance is located near 0.6065–0.6080, ahead of stronger resistance around 0.6100. On the downside, a sustained move below 0.6030 could expose further downside below 0.6000
On a more fundamental side, attention has now turned to labor market data. The Q4 unemployment rate expected to hold at 5.3%, its highest level since 2016, while employment is forecast to grow by 0.3%.

Today’s Stocks Movers Part 2
(PLTR) Palantir Technologies Inc. shares were up about 6.5% at $157.47 in early trading. Adjusted earnings per share were 25 cents, above Wall Street’s consensus estimate of 23 cents and up from 14 cents last year. Revenue for the quarter reached $1.41 billion, ahead expectations for $1.34 billion, and up 70% on the year.
(PEP )PepsiCo rose 3.6% after the beverages and snacks maker posted core earnings in the fourth quarter of $2.26 a share, 2 cents better than analysts’ expectations. The company also announced a new plan to buy back $10 billion of stock.
(MRK) Merck rose 3.4%. The biotech giant reported better-than-expected earnings and sales for the fourth quarter even as weak demand in Asia weighed on vaccine sales.
(CMG) Chipotle Mexican Grill will report earnings after market hours, with analysts expecting $2.96 billion in revenue, a 4.2% year-on-year growth, and adjusted earnings of $0.24 per share.

Today’s Stocks Movers Part 1
(PYPL) PayPal Holdings down 18%. Adjusted earnings and revenue in PayPal’s most recent quarter missed expectations. Payment volume growth in branded checkout slowed to 1% in the quarter, compared with 6% the year before.
(IT) Gartner Inc. down 22%. The research and consulting firm guided for $6.46 billion in revenue for the full year, down from $6.5 billion in 2025
(PFE) Pfizer fell 3.4%. The pharmaceutical giant posted fourth-quarter adjusted earnings and revenue that handily topped consensus estimates, though it reaffirmed its 2026 outlook that was below forecasts.
(AMD) Advanced Micro Devices stock rose 2% during premarket hours on Tuesday but fell down ahead of its earnings report today. The stock will report Q4 earnings soon, expecting $9.67 billion in sales and $2.17 billion net income.

EURUSD continues to pivot 1.18 (currently below as USD turns bid), onus on the bull side to get and stay back above with technicals turning down
US500 tested 7000 but no further
XAUUSD has rebounded into the 4800-5000 zone but remains below the upper end.

XAUUSD FIBOS
With the XAUUSD freefall from 5595 => 4403 taking no prisoners, so no obvious resistance above the market, let’s look at FIBOS for potential levels.
The one that stands out is 50% = 4999, making 5000 the clear pivotal level that will dictate whether the current rebound can restore a bid.
