The dollar continues to go from strength to strength, with EUR/USD in particular falling off to its lowest since the summer of 2025. The late July and early August lows from then at 1.1400 will be key now but we might be eyeing a further breakdown towards 1.1200 next should the Middle East situation stay as it is.
WTI crude oil is bordering on $100 again now as the Strait of Hormuz remains in de facto closure. Iran has also grown more bold over the weekend in escalating military actions across the region. And that is keeping tensions as high as ever and underpinning oil prices, as the conflict looks set to be prolonged.

EURUSD UPDATE
- Bounce from support (1.1410) about 20 pips shy of the next target (1.1391) would need to break 1.,1490 to break momentum and put the pivotal 1.15 back in play.
- Otherwise, 1.1450 will be the bias setter if trade stays between 1.14=1.15 (1.1410-90) with price action driven by the risk mood set by crude oil.

XTIUSD (WTIUSD) UPDATE
- Focus on XTIUSD as it tried to join XBRUSD above $100 but failed to hold above it (high 102.29).
- Now needs to hold 96.73 to prevent down momentum building but only a break of 92.05 would fully negate the upside risk.
- Focus, meanwhile, likely to stay on $100 as only firmly above it would put 104,51 and the 119,46 high on the radar.

XAUUSD (GOLD) UPDATE
- What stands out is (physical) GOLD and (digital) BITCOIN moving in opposite directions.
- Whatever the reasons, the break of $5000 has put bulls on the defensive where 4880 needs to hold to keep the focus on 5000 and above.
- Intra-day support: 4867 (Low of the day)
- Intra-day resistance: 5035 and 5064
- In any case, 5000 is clearly pivotal and trades defensive while below it.,
