Why This Is a Bad Mix for Markets
Rising bond yields, falling stocks, and a weakening dollar are a concerning trio. They signal a potential flight from U.S. assets. This echoes the market’s reaction after Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariff shock, which triggered a similar panic and raised alarms in the White House, leading to a 90-day pause in implementing reciprocal tariff rates. What Do Rising Bond Yields Mean?
Bond yields tend to rise when:

While there is little chance of a Fed rate hike, debate is how many rate cuts it will make given the uncertainty over the impact of tariffs, especially on inflation
