4 Things You Need to Know

DXY is a little firmer ahead of US data, JPY hit post-BoJ/Ueda.

USDJPY 4 HOUR CHART – Reaction to news matters

Spiked higher through 143.89-144.19 following the BoJ decision to keep rates unchanged is a classic example of:
• It’s the reaction to news more than the news itself that matters
• The forex market lives to run stops.
Now needs 143.89-144.19 to become support to keep the bid, stronger if above the top end, to expose today’s 144.73 high.
Expect 144-145 to be a sticky zone though with 145 one of those key pivotal levels.
XAUUSD 4 HOUR CHART – STOPS!

Break of stubborn 3260 support as mood tuns risk on. It also further illustrates that not on the forex but other markets, led by the algos, live to run stops.
As noted yesterday, the onus was on the bull side to protect 3250-60 to keep the current range or risk a extending the move towards 3200… now exposed (3190-3210) unless 3260+ is regained.
